hey friend,

i used to wait for "the feeling."

you know the one. that spark of motivation that makes you want to hit the gym at 11 p.m. or start a billion-dollar company on a tuesday morning.

it never lasts.

relying on motivation is like relying on the weather to build a house. if it rains, you quit. if it's too hot, you st

discipline is the roof that keeps you dry when the "feeling" disappears.

here is the hard truth: your brain is wired to keep you safe and comfortable. it hates discipline because discipline is uncomfortable.

but here is the shortcut i used to bypass my own lazy brain.

the "identity" hack

stop saying "i am trying to be disciplined."

instead, say "i am the type of person who doesn't miss [Action]."

  • don't "try" to run. be a runner.

  • don't "try" to write. be a writer.

when your identity changes, your actions follow.

the 3-step discipline system

  1. the 2-minute rule: if a task takes less than 2 minutes, do it now. if it’s a big habit (like the gym), just commit to 2 minutes of it. the hardest part is starting.

  2. environment design: if you want to eat better, throw away the junk. if you want to work, put your phone in another room. make the "bad" habits hard and the "good" habits easy.

  3. never miss twice: life happens. you’ll miss a day. that’s fine. just never miss two days in a row. the second miss is the start of a new habit.

stay consistent,

discipline isn't about being a robot. it’s about being kind to your "future self." do the hard thing now so the "tomorrow you" doesn't have to suffer. check out the template—it's free for the next 24 hours.
